Low Insurance and Security is quickly becoming the resource for people who need insurance. Many who visit us online enjoy the ease of comparing rates for several different lines of insurance. With our focus on property and casualty as well as health insurance, we offer our visitors several ways to comparison shop quotes in order to get the best rate for the coverage needed.

Our Auto & Homeowners Quote Options

One option we provide, as far as auto and home quoting options, is the option to select a local Independent Insurance Agency. At this time we are in search of an Agency in Colorado Springs, Colorado.

How our Colorado Springs Agency Selection Works:

So if you’re on the auto insurance quote page you first start by entering a zipcode. If the zipcode happens to be a Colorado Springs zipcode we then will give our shopper two options to select from. The first option is to get an online quote while the second option is to have a local independent Agency Shop For them.

When the shoppers requests a local quote they continue the typical quote questionare, vehcile type(s), Driver information, Details, Etc. These typical questions will be followed up by an Agency Selection page. When the the Shopper selects your Agency and continues and submits the quote we validate the information and send it directly to the Agency selected by the customer.

If you represent a Colorado Springs, CO Independent Agency and would like to learn more about how to be included as a a choice of 1-4 Agents for local shoppers in your city, visit our insurance directory inclusion page for Independent Agents in Colorado.

The internet is a great way to build some more business and here are a few tips for those who may or may not have a website and are new to online marketing.

First off, your website should provide a few ways for your local shoppers in search of insurance to get in touch with you. A contact number and even a message form are great things to have on your website. However, you should be careful with forms due to the rise with online spam. However, forms are really useful for those shoppers who just want the quote without the sales pitch. Once your website provides all the standard information needed one thing you’ll want to do is make sure its listed on the Yellowpages website. The Yellowpages doesn’t only let you list your company for free, they’ll also allow you to provide a web address to insurance Agency’s website. Now it’s time to get connected with Google. Google currently has the largest share of online web searchers, therefore it’s extremely helpful to have a local listing with Google set up. You can do this by setting up an account using Google’s Local Business Center.

Another way for Agents to earn more business online is buy getting involved in your local community forums. Most forums have a user profile area where you can provide information about yourself and what you do. Other forums will actually let you provide a signature with a link to your website at the end of each of your posts.

Social Networks like Facebook are great for restoring friendships from years ago. In society today we are sometimes pushed to other areas for work, our kids, etc. Joe from high school might not even know you sell insurance. If you can maintain friendships with those who have moved to other areas within the state, this is another good way to build your book of business. This also works for networking with other professionals throughout your city whether it be your tax guy, computer guy, and several other businesses you work with. Let’s say you trade cards with your tax guy, what are the chances that card will be pulled out in the event that person doesn’t need insurance? The answer is probably never. Now instead of trading cards what if you both are added to eachothers network of contacts on Facebook. Now your tax guy will see your smiling face from time to time regardless whether or not he’s shopping; and of course you’ll see his. While the tax person isn’t buying insurance today, his nephew may need a quote. The more active you are with updates, comments, etc. the better chance the nephew will be in touch with you for his insurance needs.

These are just a few ways to increase your online business and the best thing about each of these strategies is they’re absolutely free. I hope you’ve found this helpful. If you’re and Agent and would like to have this blog post a helpful article for others in the industry please feel free to send any article ideas through the comment area provided below. Thanks for visiting.

Ask any insurance agent what career they imagined when they were younger and the odds are great they did not have insurance agent on the list. No, it probably was not even on the radar.

Yet, somehow thousands of people choose the insurance career every year. Some choose to sell life insurance or mutual funds and others opt to work in the auto and homeowner insurance arena. Some individuals work for the large national carriers while others go into business for themselves as an independent agent.

The national insurance companies often seek to hire those who are newly graduated from college. Most corporations of all types seek those with a new degree, including the insurance recruiters. But the insurance field is also littered with agents of all ages. It is not a field reserved only for the young.

BECOMING AN AGENT

More and more larger insurance companies are requiring new hires to have a four year degree. If insurance companies know anything – it’s statistics. And apparently the stats are indicating that the agents with the greatest chance of success are those who have just graduated from a university or already hold a four year degree. More and more large insurance carriers are targeting younger people. They have less debt and can invest more back into their business, are less likely to be burdened by family obligations, and have the energy to work lots of hours. Not every insurance carrier requires a degree. It is up to you to determine which companies do not require it as you talk with their recruiter.

If you go to work as an INDEPENDENT INSURANCE AGENT you do not need a degree. An independent agent is self employed with little or no benefits or guaranteed income. Unlike getting hired by a national insurance carrier which usually offers a salary and benefits, an independent agency only offers the opportunity to work in insurance sales.

TYPES OF INSURANCE CAREERS

There are lots of opportunities in insurance for the right person – life insurance, disability insurance, auto & homeowner insurance, dental insurance, and even specialized plans for companies like AFLAC.

You only have to check the local help wanted ads or the online career websites to see most insurance companies are hiring constantly. That’s one reason why you should not jump at the first opportunity. Insurance is one industry that is hiring 24/7.

HOW TO SUCCEED IN INSURANCE

A successful insurance agent wears many hats. You have to master or be very adept in sales, administration (doing mundane chores such as filing), customer service, prospecting, phone skills, follow through and more! To succeed in insurance, be prepared to work lots of hours and invest a portion of your income back into your business.
